interesting read, im always shocked by the complexity of the American system compared with our UK based system. My only thought is the 10% rate of return. I know you used it for simplicity but its highly unlikely that 10% is anywhere near achievable over the longer term. Especially as common consensus is to move towards less risky investments as retirement nears further reducing the likely rate, which in the final years are where the most compounding could happen. Doesn't affect your takeaway though. The earlier the investing begins the better.
